Client Overview
Vick Khabra spent more than 15 years working as an industrial engineer in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in supply chain operations that supported medication manufacturing, including life-saving and pediatric medicines. His experience gave him a strong foundation in operational systems, process improvement, and efficiency.
His wife, Navsharan, is a physical therapist who worked in school settings supporting children with special needs, including autism. Through her professional experience, she recognized the need for more individualized and intensive support tailored to each child’s needs.
Together, Vick and Navsharan saw an opportunity to combine their complementary backgrounds through Success On The Spectrum. They were drawn to the franchise’s focus on individualized, center-based ABA therapy and its mission to help children with autism reach their full potential.
Vick opened SOS Parsippany on May 17, 2024, followed by a second location in Livingston on February 1, 2025. Since launching the two centers, the couple has focused on growing the business, developing clinical talent, and improving the systems that support families and employees.
The Starting Point
Applying Engineering Expertise to Autism Care
Before entering the ABA therapy industry, Vick had spent more than 15 years working in pharmaceutical supply chain operations. His role involved supporting the systems and processes behind medication manufacturing, an environment where efficiency, coordination, and reliable operations were essential.
Although his professional experience was rooted in engineering, his wife’s work provided a different perspective on the needs of children with autism. As a physical therapist in school settings, Navsharan saw the importance of individualized support and the opportunity to make a greater impact through specialized care.
When they discovered Success On The Spectrum, they found a business opportunity that aligned with both their professional strengths and shared interest in supporting children with special needs.
The franchise model offered a way to enter the autism therapy industry while drawing on Vick’s operational expertise and Navsharan’s experience working with children. Their goal was to build a business that could deliver meaningful services while creating a foundation for long-term growth.
The Challenge
Scaling Two Centers While Maintaining Quality Care
Operating an ABA therapy center requires more than establishing efficient business processes. It involves building a qualified clinical team, supporting families, maintaining consistent operations, and creating an environment where children receive individualized care.
For Vick and Navsharan, expanding from one location to two introduced additional operational responsibilities. As the organization grew, they needed to strengthen their workforce, improve administrative systems, and support the professional development of employees.
Key priorities included:
- Managing multi-location operations: Operating centers in Parsippany and Livingston required systems that could support daily activities and maintain consistency as the business expanded.
- Developing clinical talent: Recruiting and retaining qualified professionals while creating opportunities for staff to advance into clinical and leadership positions became an important part of the organization’s growth.
- Improving operational efficiency: Vick’s engineering background encouraged a focus on streamlining administrative processes, reducing manual work, and improving communication.
- Maintaining a people-first culture: Financial growth needed to complement the organization’s commitment to individualized care, employee development, and positive experiences for families.

Investing in People and Clinical Development
Developing employees has become a central part of the organization’s approach. The business currently has four Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and nine BCBA practicum students and interns.
The organization has also created opportunities for employees to progress into new roles. Two former Behavior Technicians have advanced into office manager positions, while three others have enrolled in master’s programs in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and progressed into BCBA practicum and internship roles.

These efforts reflect an emphasis on building internal talent and creating opportunities for employees to develop their careers within the organization.
Using Technology to Improve Operations
Drawing on his engineering background, Vick continually looks for ways to improve systems and reduce operational inefficiencies.
The organization is embracing technology and creative solutions to streamline administrative processes, improve communication, and reduce manual work. The aim is to make daily operations more efficient so employees can dedicate more attention to the children and families the centers serve.
